Forty years in the Emergency Department and the cardiac cath lab. Missed MIs, door-to-balloon delays, and triage failures are my home turf. I tell you in two weeks whether your case has merit.

Case types

Where I read the record fastest

I spent forty years inside the departments your cases come from. I know what the chart should say, what it actually says, and what the gap between them means for your theory of the case.

Missed MI

Atypical presentations, discharged chest pain, unread ECGs, troponin timing. I know what the standard demanded at triage, in the department, and at discharge.

Door-to-balloon delay

Cath lab activation, transfer decisions, and the minutes that matter. I worked the receiving end of these cases for decades. The timeline is the case — I build it to the minute.

Triage & ED process failures

Under-triage, boarding, delayed assessment, missed deterioration. I map the record against the standards the department was required to meet that day.

Merit screen

Flat fee · two-week turnaround

A written answer to one question: does this case have merit? Deviations identified, causation problems flagged, and a recommendation you can act on — before you commit to the cost of experts.

Medical-record chronology

Hourly · quoted before work begins

The full record, ordered and annotated. Every entry sourced to page and provider. Built to be handed to your expert — or read cold by you the night before a deposition.

Standards-of-care analysis

Hourly · quoted before work begins

What the standard required, where the record departs from it, and which departments and roles own each departure. Cited to the applicable standards, not to opinion.

How it works

The merit screen in four steps

  1. Send the records. Secure transfer. I confirm receipt and completeness within two business days, and tell you if anything critical is missing.
  2. I read everything. Not a summary of a summary — the chart itself: nursing notes, ECGs, timestamps, med administration records.
  3. You get a written screen in two weeks. Deviations, causation issues, and a plain recommendation: pursue, decline, or investigate further.
  4. We talk. Thirty minutes on the findings, included. If the case has legs, I scope the chronology and standards analysis next — quoted before any work begins.

Scope of practice.

I am a legal nurse consultant, not an attorney and not a testifying physician expert. I provide nursing-perspective analysis of medical records and standards of care to support your case evaluation and expert strategy.

A short description of the case is enough. I reply within one business day. Conflicts are checked before any records change hands.
